6 Piece
The financial specialist for the Today Show was challenged to downsize her wardrobe and only wear 6 pieces not including underwear and shoes. She had six simple pieces of clothing that included a black jacket, two tank tops, a dress, a skirt, and shorts. She pulled it off for an entire month. No one noticed that she was wearing the same pieces day after day. She changed the look by adding different belts and scarves. Of course dressing up and down by adding different jewelry…..((sigh)) wish I was as creative.
What she discovered was astonishing. It wasn’t a matter of money that she saved. Of course she saved money. She wasn’t shopping. But what surprised her the most was how much time it saved getting dressed. She said limiting her choices caused her to have more time in the morning. She didn’t waste time by going through several outfits before picking the perfect one. She pretty much had everything planned out with the 6 pieces. The only downside was that she had to wash more often. But adding more time in her day overthrew the amount of washing she had to do.
Cutting things out of my diet has downsized my grocery shopping and the amount of waste we throw out. So the idea of cutting back to 6 pieces of clothing makes me smile. HMMMMM….. wonder if my teen would notice all her clothes gone???? Just kidding….. she doesn’t have too many clothes. I would hate to cause her to freak out!! But, as for my closet, it just might be the next thing I do! Especially since I am losing weight………it will be easy to do!
I believe the 6 piece challenge will spark a thought in a lot of people. We don’t need all the stuff we have to make us happy or to look good. I know personally….I have a closet full but only were just a few items. Something to think about……
Enjoy your day…… God Bless……

This is my husband’s and sons’ wardrobe strategy, except they have no accessories
I started out really skeptical and ready to post something playfully flaming, but I actually kind of like the idea. I LOVE to shop, but I tend to buy the same types of clothes and wear my favorites a lot. I like the idea of scaling down to the things I really love and using jewelry and accessories to change it up. I wonder if people would really not notice?
