Which Mom are You?
Caroline Ingalls ……she was a pioneer. She raised children on a farm in the middle of nowhere….. I mean Walnut Grove. She was soft spoken and was always feeding the chickens. She was a wonderful model of the Christian wife and mother. She could handle Mrs. Olsen by politely putting her in her place. She wasn’t afraid of anything….even when Mr. Ingalls left Walnut Grove for work. I admire her for her strength, courage and her wittiness.
Mrs. Partridge…..now there’s a cool mom. She wore groovy clothes and hung out with her kids. She was quick to stand up for her kids and gave them enough space to learn how to be independent thinkers. I admired the fact that she, as a single mom, had the courage to manage and lead a career that involved her children and her own passion…… Making a well balanced life as a working mom……
Mrs. Walton….. the character most like my grandmother. Church going, always in the kitchen, frugal, and a woman of the Great Depression era. She was the nurturer, caregiver and one of the most respected women on Walton’s mountain. She had a whole slew of children and lived with her in-laws. She had the strength and courage to face being penniless and creative enough to keep her family clothed.
Each character represented an image of the “perfect” mom. Their character traits were wide and yet greatly respected….. from adoring fans anyway. If I could take the characteristics I admired the most and morph them together, I would hope that a picture of me would pop up……
I finished the quick questionaire and pressed the send button…..
guess which TV mom I was…..
None other than Mrs. Brady from the Brady Bunch. The details about Mrs. Brady as noted by the Facebook peeps…..
You work from home to be close to the kids and love to take part in church functions. You love your husband and enjoy every minute you have with him alone (which is not often).
Oh wow……that does sound like me…… But I always thought of Mrs. Brady as the quirky, knitting type who always read a book in bed….. Oh wait, that is me!!
God Bless….
