What the World Needs Now

Awaking from a sound night’s slumber, I woke singing. (In my head, I sound like a rock star!)  While making breakfast and packing lunches, I was humming and gently swaying to the tune.  At the breakfast table, I threw up my arms and belted, “What the World Needs Now… Is Love Sweet Love.”  Avoiding the “she has lost it” stares from the captive audience (no one leaves “Mom’s Homemade Biscuits”), I smugly smile making excuses that I didn’t know what came over me.

L-O-V-E, Love is what God is all about.  And if the doctor could prescribe it for the world, we would seen the end of so much ailments.  Watching the news is so depressing.  Another death, another crime, another terrible incident happened and the loss, hurt and suffering is left to report.   Where is the love?  The love we are commanded to have?  And the news watchers hang their heads and ask, “Why?”

Why so much suffering?  Why so much pain?  Where’s God love in all this?

The answer, as I often ponder, lies within all of us.  All of us who believe in God.  We are the answer… perhaps not to explain why all this bad has to happen….. but to prevent it…. or at least lessen it.

What this world needs now…. is love sweet love…….If everyone in the world did just one thing a day to show God’s love, what a huge difference it would make.  One act creates a ton of love.

If you see someone in need, help.  If you hear a child cry, comfort.  If you spent time with someone you love, it would be time worth spent.  If you give a dollar, a tummy will be full.  If you give an hour, a life could be changed.  The possibilities are endless.

So, today, I challenge…. or rather…. I expect you to give someone a little of God’s love.  Trust me there is plenty to go around.  You will be surprised to discover how much the world needs love…..

God Bless……
Regina
