Feeling Confused??
When I was in my late 20′s I decided I was going to teach myself how to do this crocheting thing. I got a “dummy” book from the library. Actually, it think it was a children’s book. I learned one simple stitch and began making afghans. Feeling bolder, I got some crocheting books. I thought I could branch out…..ha!! Who am I kidding?? I got confused. I didn’t understand sc, ch, ds, YO…. it just didn’t make sense. It was Greek to me and I was left feeling absolutely lost and frustrated. Finally, I gave up.
Every time, I think I understand what life is all about; I am handed a whole other set of directions…. full of sc, ch, ds, YO!!!! I could easily throw my hands in the air and give up. Thank God, I haven’t. When I am confused, I ask for directions or clarity. Thank goodness I have HIM….. God. Without Him and the purpose He has given me, my life has been like a pattern for a crocheting project. Oh how much simpler it would be if He would just write a “Just for Dummies” book on life! Perhaps then I would actually get it……the first time around.
God has given us the perfect example to follow: Jesus. Without His example, I would be lost in this big old world. Jesus’ life reflected God’s love, patience, kindness….. you get the picture.
Oh, and yes, I am finally beginning to understand those crochet books. I made my first pair of socks this week…. one is bigger than the other!! I have had to ask a lot of questions to the older and wiser ladies in my community…..Perhaps, that is why God invented prayer. Trust me, I ask Him. Hey, maybe that is why there hasn’t been a book for Dummies!!!!
Just remember, when you are feeling confused and overwhelmed, pray and read your Bible! You will be given the directions needed to understand your pattern called Life!
